Initial Advice
Our low costs initial advice service, speak to John and discover the strenghts and weakneeses of your case. You will get advice about the best way forward and what to do next. The consultation is about 20 minutes and includes a short summary of the advice given. This is excpetional value at only £80 plus VAT (£100 inc VAT)
Option 1 - Preparing Your Case
It is vital that your case stands out - we present your case focussing on the grounds that are most likely to secure a successful appeal. By having a lengthy consultation and however many phone calls and emails that your case needs, we can be sure that your case is most forcefully presented, and that critical issues are properly addressed.
We may need to speak to other people involved with your child for personal references. A Freedom of Information request may be useful, every case is different and every case is given due care and consideration. It may be that there has been an error that we can identify in the way the admission arrangements have been applied - so going to appeal may not actually be necessary. Everything that is relevant to your appeal we go over with a fine tooth comb.
When we have gathered the relevant information, your statement is drafted and we check that it conforms exactly to what you say. Having dealt with hundreds of appeals, we know that well prepared paperwork sets you apart from the others appealing. It enables you to go to the hearing well prepared and confident that everything you want to say and need to say about your child will be in front of the panel.
All for a single fixed fee of only £495.00 + VAT.
Option 2 - Case Review & Appeal Hearing Advice
When you get the school's case for refusing you a place it can seem overwhelming. The facts and figures can take your breath away and many parents feel lost and hopeless. The experience that we bring to this part of the process is based on years of dealing with such paperwork. We can spot any possible cracks and target questions to your advantage. By the time you go into the appeal you are fully armed with relevant questions and focussed on the strongest parts of your own case.
We have a detailed consultation with you and having seen the school's case we carefully consider any possible weaknesses. We talk you through the whole appeal hearing process, with advice about what to say, when to say it and how to present yourself to the panel to have maximum impact.
We prepare all the necessary documentation so that you can be really focussed on the critical issues. Key questions about the school case, details of any breaches of the admissions code or relevant law in the school presentation and any other factors that may weaken the argument that to admit another child would cause prejudice. We then provide a list of bullet points about your own personal circumstances that you can expand on in the second part of the hearing. The other parts of your paperwork may contain key school data, extracts from the admissions code relevant to your case and tips about presenting your appeal to the Panel.
This is a fixed fee service of £395 + VAT (£474 inc VAT)
Complete Appeals Service
If we are instructed on both parts of the process at the outset the agreed fee is £700 plus VAT. A total saving of £288
Payments can be staged - the initial payment being £495 plus VAT and then a payment of £246 which includes VAT four weeks later, unless a hearing is imminent.
Please note that if there is little time to prepare for a hearing then full payment will be required at the time of instruction and that no work will be undertaken until payment is made.
We manage, prepare and advise you about every element of the process. This is the complete service, ensuring seamless preparation of your child's appeal. You have unlimited access to pre-hearing advice by telephone or email to the point of the appeal hearing.
This is a fixed Agreed Fee of £700 plus VAT.
Attendance at the Hearing
We can attend the hearing with you and make your case to a panel strategically. This option includes extensive pre-hearing discussions - including a fact finding conference to ensure that all of your strongest points have been put to the panel. It is a combination of the complete appeals service and also attendance at the hearing. If the hearing is in two separate sessions, a further discussion in respect of cost may be necessary. Travel costs are to be separately agreed. This is a fixed fee of £1300 plus VAT.
Infant Class Size Appeals
Infant Class Size appeals are often the first experience that parents have of the school system. And boy can it be one heck of a shock! On rare occasions it may be possible to challenge the admissions authority in respect of infant class size regulations. It is rare to win Key Stage 1 Appeals - but not impossible.
Following a FREE discussion, and if there appears to be any legal merit or chance of success, this fee represents the total amount of the full preparation, advice and assistance payable for the service above which would cost £750.
Please note a separate questionnaire is to be completed for KS1 and the guidance notes are to be considered before instruction and discussion. WE WILL NOT DISCUSS YOUR CASE UNLESS THIS IS COMPLETED.
THE CHANCE OF SUCCESS AT KEY STAGE 1 IS MINIMAL.
Advice Following a Hearing
Review of appeal panels' decision, and further advice in respect of possible ombudsman complaints, judicial review or complaint to the Secretary of State for Education. A fixed fee for a written advice and analysis of the situation for only £250 plus VAT
